How to use

1. Printed code ≠ part number

SMD parts are too small for their full name, so the maker prints a short code on the body. The same part can carry different codes on different packages, and one short code can belong to several unrelated parts.

2. How to search

• Type the characters printed on the part into the single search box — code or part number, either works.
• Dashes and spaces do not matter: SOT-23-5 = SOT23-5 = SOT 23 5.
• Drop trailing lowercase letters or dots — they are usually a date/lot code, not part of the marking.
• Characters that are easy to misread: 0/O, 1/I/l, 5/S, 8/B. The code may also be printed upside down.

3. Search by photo

When the marking is too small or too faint to read, tap the arrow button inside the search box to take or pick a photo. The photo never leaves your device — the text is read right inside your browser.

Drag the frame so it hugs the text, then tap Read text. What it reads goes straight into the search box — check it and fix it by hand if needed.

Light the part from the side so the engraving stands out, shoot square to the chip, and let it fill most of the frame.

4. AI lookup, for hard photos

If the ordinary reading finds nothing, a button "AI lookup · N left today" appears right under the photo. Only when you tap it is the photo sent to our server for AI to read — it never runs on its own, and the number left is always written on the button.

Each day: 2 lookups without an account, 5 once you sign in. The allowance resets at midnight. Everything else on the site stays unlimited and free.

5. One code, many results

Short codes (1–3 characters) are shared by many parts. Compare with the part on your board: package and pin count first, then the circuit around it. Use the package filter above the results.

6. Package (kiểu chân)

The package is the body shape and pin layout (SOT-23, SOD-123, SOIC-8…). The package library shows a drawing, dimensions and alternative names for each one. Package library →

"unknown" means the package has not been confirmed yet — the code is still searchable.

7. Datasheet

Open the datasheet from the part page. The original manufacturer PDF is shown unmodified; use "Download original PDF" to save it.

8. Code not in the database?

Send a request from the bottom of the results page. You need the code printed on the body and one or two photos of the part — required: text alone is rarely enough for us to identify anything.

You then get your own link to follow the request; we aim to answer within two working days. Sign in and every request is waiting for you under My requests, with no link to keep.

9. Found a mistake?

Use "Wrong or missing information? Tell us" at the bottom of each part page. Reports are reviewed before anything is changed.
